CELS believes the crisis generated by the pandemic requires answers based on solidarity and egalitarian policies. In the light of recent events, Horacio Verbitsky presented his apologies and requested a leave to the Board of Directors. With this granted, vice president Sofia Tiscornia is now in charge of CELS’ presidency.
During decades, Horacio engaged in the human rights movement and contributed significantly to Argentina’s political life and to the history of our organization which has been part of the fight for a fairer society since 1979.
The Board of Directors has decided that an impending transition between forms of governance of the organization will take place during the upcoming weeks.
